What is Your Estimation of the Church?

What is the Church? Some would answer the church is a building where Christians meet. Others would say the church is something invisible, while others would say it is a visible society. There would be those that would when answering that question answer what they think the church is for, what it is supposed to do and where it is supposed to go. There are those that say the church is universal, while other say the church is local. There are some who say the church is Roman, others say its orthodox, and others say its catholic. A man was answering questions for a national poll. When asked for his church preference, he responded, "Red brick."Three pastors got together for coffee one day and found all their churches had bat-infestation problems. "I got so mad," said one, "I took a shotgun and fired at them. It made holes in the ceiling, but did nothing to the bats." "I tried trapping them alive," said the second. "Then I drove 50 miles before releasing them, but they beat me back to the church." "I haven't had any more problems," said the third. "What did you do?" asked the others, amazed. "I simply baptized and welcomed them into membership," he replied. "I haven't seen them since."
Sad to say this is not just a humorous story. For many churches it highlights the problem with the modern culture where the church is not seen as a high priority in many peoples lives, this includes many people who claim to be followers of Christ Jesus. There continues to be those who think that the church is the building and that they don’t need the church to be saved, that they can live without it. Yet is this the case from scripture. How important is the church?
What is the church in your estimation, do you love the church as Christ loves the church, that may be impossible because who can love as he has loved us. But you get the idea. Is the church a secondary issue to you in a long list of affections, when you think of the church do you get angry, frustrated upset. Look to Jesus Christ and see what his view of His church is.
Are you a member of His church? You are not a member just because you attend a church service on Sunday. But has the Holy Spirit caused you to see and confess that Jesus is the Christ the son of the living God. Sinner believe on Him and be saved, Repent and Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.
